Category Display - Custom and Regular Markers

On this page, we show a JMaps instance that has multiple SOBI2 Categories and uses a combination of custom markers and regular markers. A custom marker is used for the featured items. Regular colored markers are used for the non-featured entries.

This map also shows the optional Google Search Bar. The Google Search can be hidden or displayed. The Google Search will add one or more markers to the map while continuing to show the SOBI2, Community Builder, custom XML, RSS, or KML feed information that was mapped prior to the search. JMaps can also show a blank Google Map strictly for purposes of showing the Google Search Bar.

Maps of your SOBI2 entries can be built and display on any regular Joomla content page such as this one. Examples of the maps that can be built:

  • All Categories
  • Specified Categories
  • All Entries in a specified State or Province
  • All Entries of one or more categories in a specified State or Province

These maps can be used anywhere on your site to entice users to visit selected locations, or as added information to pages that focus on a geographic area and/or a type of listing in your SOBI2 directory. The uses are endless!
