Introduction To Training

Every new Website delivered by Corfun comes with training which is often done in-person. In addition to our new customer training, we are also striving to build a library of training videos to help with refresher training, new hires, and even just demonstrating things the system can do that customers aren't currently using.

Tutorial 1: Using the Acajoom Newsletter Mailing System

The Acajoom Pro Newsletter system is the most powerful and flexible newsletter component for the Joomla Content Management System. Customers of Corfun can get their own eNewsletter component which they can use to manage unlimited mailing lists. In addition, a subscription form is provided so that each member can solicit subscriptions on his or her own site, or other sites that will co-operate.

How powerful is Acajoom? Major religious organizations like Christ Campaign International, the Orthodox Christian Network, Orthodoxytoday.org, the American Orthodox Institute, and countless commercial businesses use Acajoom as the centerpiece of their newsletter strategies. Our largest customer is processing over 8,000 emails a week using this system.

In this set of three videos, several major tasks are exhibited for the Acajoom system. Several of these tasks are performed for customers by Corfun staff. During a project, we will deliver at least one fully-ready newsletter mailing list. The training below starts with how that is done, and also includes importing names and how to send an actual mailing.

Acajoom can bulk import subscribers. This makes it easy to get a mailing list, and then bring it into the system to use.

This video covers how to actually format and send a newsletter mailing.

Note: This tutorial was broken into three separate videos to decrease the amount of time necessary for the videos to load across the Internet. Depending on your connection speed, they may still take some time.

Tutorial 2: Adding Events to the JEvents Calendar

CorFun frequently recommends the JEvents Calendar to customers needing a calendar online. The JEvents calendar is configured during the project by CorFun staff, but is then usually updated by client organization staff. This tutorial gives an introduction to how easy it is to add events to this calendar, and have them appear in the upcoming events module.
