Template: Joomla Shack Red Elemental with pretty heavy modifications. This template was a great basic design, but needed a lot of rework to go into a production site. The template was chosen because it has some really neat bundled features. It is variable width, variable font, and even has a handy RSS subscribe button in the upper right.

Banner Art: The banner was inherited from the old site that this one replaced.

Overview: St. Stephen is a very active Orthodox parish in Longwood, Florida. The parish wanted a site that could be easily updated, and which the parish priest could publish his sermons on.

Technical Details: This is a Joomla 1.0.11 site with all the basic Joomla capabilities plus:

• Membership Directory - The members of the parish have profiles with name, address, emails, birthdays, and other information. Membership in the site is by approval only, and only members can access the member profiles.
• Multi-media Files - The site can play video and audio files.
• Article Publication - The parish priest publishes his weekly sermon, in addition to announcements, events, etc.
• Event Listing - An events calendar is installed to keep everyone notified of upcoming events.
• Photo Gallery - Church members love online photo galleries. This site has a version of Coppermine Photo Gallery which is the best online gallery.
• Discussion Forum - The site has a discussion forum built using phpBB.
• Rotating Menu - Frontpage features a rotating slideshow which is a menu of important events.
• eCommerce - Site features an eCommerce area to sell Orthodox books and supplies.
• RSS Feeds - Site has an advanced RSS reader to bring in news from around the world.
